Sony digital cameras are made with high-quality lenses, using Carl Zeiss lenses for their Cyber-shot line of cameras. The lens manufacturer holds a high reputation for quality optical lenses, which Sony makes great use of. The latest in the line of Sony digital cameras, the Cyber-shot like the older DSC-T100 uses lenses that have up to 5x optical zoom, which makes this compact camera great for both casual use with friends and family and bigger shots of landscapes.

Nikon Digital Cameras – Views From Viewers.
Bigger Isn’t Always Better
While digital SLR cameras are quite impressive and take beautiful pictures, they aren’t always the best digital cameras if you’re just looking to take casual pictures. If you just need something to take pictures for vacations or simple family gatherings, then you don’t need a huge camera. Smaller digital cameras can still take great pictures and are much more portable and easy to use, so don’t overlook the small cameras. Checkout the Nikon Coolpix!
First off let me say I really like my Nikon coolpix. But when I was buying the Nikon Coolpix L20 camera as a gift and the leather case was advertised as a companion item. I naturally assumed the camera would actually fit in the case. It did not. The case itself is very nice and I will find other uses for it but felt I was mislead on this purchase.
Nikon Coolpix L20
10.0-megapixel resolution for photo-quality prints up to 16 x 20 inches; 3.6x optical Zoom-Nikkor glass lens; 3.0-inch high-resolution LCD screen; Nikon’s Smart Portrait System; Red-eye Fix, Face Priority AE and more; Capture images to SD/SDHC memory cards (not included)….
Nikon D5000
The Nikon D5000 digital SLR is intended to be a alternative to the impressive D90 SLR. The D5000 carries many of that camera’s features, including a 12.3-megapixel DX-format sensor and HD movie mode. The D5000 is capable of filming clips in 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. It also has a larger 2.7-inch variable angle LCD display. Nikon has the entry-level SLR down to a science, and the D5000 is an excellent choice for beginners looking to take their photography to the next level.
Nikon L100
10.0-megapixel resolution for photo-quality prints up to 16 x 20 inches; 15x optical wide-angle (28-420mm) Zoom-Nikkor glass lens; 3.0-inch LCD and Electronic Viewfinder; 4-way VR image stabilization; Nikon’s Smart Portrait System; Red-eye Fix, Face Priority AE and more; Capture images to SD/SDHC memory cards (not included)

Point-and-shoot digital cameras are the best selling digital cameras for good rerason. This is because they are simple and easy to use cameras mainly for those who don’t consider themselves good at photography or don’t enjoy learning about a lot of things just to take a picture. Hence the name point and shoot. They have been so popular for so long because you can also easily take photographs at events like vacations, parties, reunions and other events so easily.
While using a point-and-shoot digital camera, remember that it is digital. There is an LCD display and as soon as you take your photo you can look into the LCD display and you can check it if you have timed it well, weather it is the correct pose you required and whether you can make some adjustments and can take another picture .
This camera is easy to use and it takes unbelievable pictures. The quality and size of the lens make all the difference in the world. I bought this camera for my wife and it was so good I bought one for my grandson who is into taking pictures. My wife loves it and my grandson really loves it. It is a little big for a point and shoot camera but well worth the bother of a slightly larger camera than say a smaller Coolpix. My wife had a small Coolpix but since she picked up the L100 she has not touched the smaller camera. Also the L100 takes regular batteries that last a long time and they are cheap and readily available. I was not in a hurry to buy a camera so I watched the Ebay listings for a few weeks and saved a lot of money.

HP digital cameras are available in varied mega pixel resolutions and varied zoom options. They incorporate small to spacious displays, automatic removal of the red-eye effect each time a snap is shot and features such as anti shake. They have a 16 MB built in memory and expandable memory card slots. HP Photosmart R927 and R967 have been rated 4.7 and 4.6 out of five respectively. HP digital cameras also incorporate self timers, burst modes, video and normal shooting modes etc. HP digital cameras have approximately 20 picture modes. Secure digital memory is provided with almost all HP camera models. HP Photosmart R967 is a powerful camera with 10 MP camera and a 3x optical zoom and a 3” display with a wide viewing angle.
I used an HP digital camera for a good number of years primarily taking photos for Ebay listings. Worked well and I never had a minutes worth of trouble. I wore out the little door where the mem card went so I retired it.
I haven’t checked but I don’t think HP makes cameras any longer. But there should be a good number of used ones for sale on on Ebay.

There are Digital cameras that use AA-size batteries and those that are powered by lithium-ion batteries that only work with a particular type, make or brand of camera. If you travel, particularly if you enjoy remote or rustic locations, choose a camera with AA batteries.
Why?
When a camera that uses proprietary batteries runs out of power, you have no choice but to plug the battery into a power outlet to recharge it. This requires an available outlet, a battery charger, and, if you’re in a foreign country, a power converter. If access to an outlet is ever in doubt, or if you don’t want the hassle of carrying cords and chargers, then the limitations of this system are obvious.
You have the option to purchase the proprietary battery pack your camera uses – but they can be expensive and how many will you need?
If you use a camera that uses AA-size batteries when batteries run out of power on a trip, you can simply throw out the old batteries and drop in a new set of high-performance AAs like the Energizer E2 Lithium line. Two or three sets of such batteries can usually take you through a 10-day trip. If you’re out of high-performance batteries, you also have the option of using standard alkaline batteries, which are available anywhere in the world, and make a cheap and convenient source of backup power (though they only offer a fraction of the life of high performance batteries).
Before you buy check. Get a camera that uses AA batteries if you travel. My Canon PowerShot is one such camera.
